Dinosaur State Park & Museum – This is a wonderful place to go visit for both adults and kids. It’s a wonderful place to learn all about dinosaurs. There’s a great place on the CT River where there are plenty places to explore when the weather is good and they offer an inside museum where you can look out outstanding displays of dinosaurs.

Rocky Hill Ferry Park – This is a really nice place to visit if you are looking for spectacular views of the area. It’s a nice place to find some peace and tranquility. You can also enjoy taking a trip on the ferry there for a nominal fee where you can take your car across the river over to Glastonbury, CT. The park is also a great place for fishing and having a picnic with the kids.

Still Hill Brewery – This is a new local brewery that is across the river from Rocky Hill in the town of South Glastonbury which has been around for just a year this coming February 4th and has already become a local favorite and one that visitors to Rocky Hill often take the ferry to visit. If you like good tasting brew this brewery should be on your list to visit because they make high quality bears. They also offer tours of the brewery as well.

The Connecticut Audubon Society – This is another place to visit that is just across the river from Rocky Hill. It was opened in 1982 and it’s main focus is to promote the awareness of the ecosystem and the birds along with their habitats that exist on the Connecticut River. This is a 4,000 square foot facility that has a variety of environmental programs and events all year round for all ages to enjoy. They have a Discovery Room where there are hands on exhibits, different wildlife mounts, various interpretive natural history exhibits to enjoy along with the Great Meadow where smaller animals live and a diorama of the beautiful Connecticut River. Also open during good weather you can enjoy the beautiful grounds that surround the center that has a Four Seasons Wildlife Garden, picnic area and a place to feed the birds. This is a great place to go and relax while you enjoy nature.


If you love to walk through nature the Center is located right next to the beautiful 48 acre Earle Park that is town owned. It has nice forest trails that offer hiking, horseback riding and even cross country skiing. and numerous scenic vistas of the Toma Pond, bluffs that overlook the Holland Brook River and various different meadows.

Connecticut’s Rocky Hills

There are a lot of other things to do and see in Rocky Hill as well as the surrounding areas. So, there’s no reason for anyone to get bored while they are there visiting. The scenery of the local area alone is something that many people enjoy. This is especially true when it comes to fall with all the East Coast trees turning different and beautiful shades of orange, red and yellow.
